Mr. Thakrar is a highly accomplished Consultant Trauma and Orthopaedic Surgeon with extensive expertise in knee surgery and sports injuries. His educational journey began at the Royal Free and University College London Medical School, where he achieved outstanding academic performance, including a First-Class Honours BSc in Physiology and Pharmacology and a Merit award in Medicine. Following medical school, he pursued his higher surgical training in the West Midlands Deanery.

To further refine his skills, Mr. Thakrar completed dual subspecialty knee fellowships at renowned institutions. His first fellowship focused on arthroplasty and sports knee surgery at the Academic Lower Limb Reconstruction Unit at University College London Hospital and the Institute of Sport, Exercise and

Health. His second fellowship specialised in knee osteotomy surgery and knee ligament reconstruction surgery at Basingstoke & North Hampshire Hospital, an internationally respected facility.

Committed to advancing medical knowledge, Mr. Thakrar actively engages in research endeavours. He has secured numerous research grants, authored multiple peer-reviewed articles and book chapters. He regularly shares his insights at regional, national, and international scientific gatherings and serves as a reviewer for esteemed journals like The Bone and Joint Journal.

Beyond his clinical and academic pursuits, Mr. Thakrar is deeply invested in teaching and training. He imparts his knowledge to students at various levels, from undergraduates to international audiences. He holds a faculty position at the International Basingstoke Osteotomy Masterclass and contributes to the Royal College of Surgeons of England CCrISP Course.
