Your health is of the utmost importance and deciding who to choose as your healthcare provider during periods of illness can be overwhelming. Thankfully, all health and social care providers across England are monitored, inspected and rated by the Care Quality Commission (CQC). This enables you to make the most informed choice for your care. Read on below to find out more about what to expect from a healthcare provider, the role the CQC plays and why our hospital is a smart choice for your care.

What to expect when using a health or social care service?

As a patient, you should expect a number of fundamental standards to be met when receiving care or treatment from a health or care provider. These standards include:

These standards are set out, inspected, and monitored by an independent body known as the Care Quality Commission (CQC).

Who are the CQC and what is their role?

The CQC are the independent regulator of health and social care in England. They ensure patients are provided with safe, effective, compassionate, and high-quality care whilst also encouraging providers to continually make service improvements.

What is OSD Healthcare’s hospital rating?

Once a service is registered with the CQC, they are monitored continuously. The information gathered during this process helps the CQC to decide when, where and what to inspect.

In October 2021, OSD Healthcare received its visit from the CQC for their official inspection. The team spent the day onsite assessing all areas of our offering according to 5 important focus areas:

The initial feedback was overwhelmingly positive with the official findings published in December 2021.

We are incredibly proud to announce that CQC awarded our hospital an overall performance rating of:

In addition to this overall rating, we also received a GOOD rating across the 5 key areas of Safety, Effectiveness, Care, Responsiveness and Leadership.

We are absolutely delighted with this achievement, which involved an incredible amount of hard work, and would not have been possible without the collaborative team effort of all staff.

Not only is this rating a testament to our compassionate, patient-centric approach, but also highlights our desire to make personalised and accessible treatment options available through clinically excellent teams and state-of-the-art facilities.

We look forward to continuing to make further improvements in our service offering with a focus on providing our patients with a level of care that is second to none.
