Mr Ghani is a highly experienced Consultant Orthopaedic Foot & Ankle and Trauma surgeon specialising in disorders of the adult Foot and Ankle. His NHS practice is based at the Homerton Hospital NHS Trust.
He studied medicine at UCL in London and undertook a BSc in Orthopaedic & Musculoskeletal Science. He completed his Orthopaedic Specialty Training in London on the prestigious Royal National Orthopaedic Hospital, Stanmore Rotation and worked in several highly regarded hospitals across London including the tertiary Foot & Ankle Unit at the Royal National Orthopaedic Hospital. As a triple fellowship trained Consultant, he is highly skilled in the management of all aspects of Foot and Ankle Surgery. He undertook accredited and prestigious internationally renowned Foot & Ankle fellowships in Windsor, St. Marys’s Hospital in London and at the Specialist Nuffield Orthopaedic Centre in Oxford.
Mr Ghani is passionate about education and training and developed the internationally acclaimed British Orthopaedic Foot & Ankle Society (BOFAS) ‘Lectures of Distinction’ Webinar series with the BOFAS Educational Committee. He became the first non-consultant to become part of the BOFAS Education Committee. He is a regular invited faculty on various national and international Orthopaedic and Foot and Ankle courses and FRCS courses where he lectures to surgeons, general practitioners, physiotherapists, podiatrists and allied health professionals. He is currently also a member of the BOFAS Equity, Diversity & Inclusion Working Group.
He has an active involvement in research and developed a novel antimicrobial implant coating as well as undertaking research on Ankle Replacements. He has received international and national prizes for his research. Mr Ghani has published 18 peer reviewed publications in a range of international high impact orthopaedic journals. He has presented his work at both national and international forums over 40 times and has authored 3 book chapters.
Mr Ghani is renowned for his holistic approach towards his patients offering both effective conservative and surgical management to his patients. He combines a patient focussed approach with modern, evidence based and proven technologies to achieve the best possible results for every patient under his care.
