Mr Farooq Khan graduated with distinction from University College London Medical School and completed both basic and higher surgical training in urology in Cambridge. With a period of research in London and multiple book chapters and publications he was appointed as a Consultant Urological Surgeon in 2010 and has developed a specialist interest in laser prostate surgery. He is indeed the leading low power (50 watt) laser prostate surgeon in the UK having completed close to a thousand cases.
He runs a twice yearly masterclass teaching this technique to Consultants from across the UK and Ireland. He is also the Course Director for the urology modules at the Royal College of Surgeons of England and a senior faculty member for the FRCS (Urol) examination revision course.

Mr Khan covers the breath of urological treatments, apart from his subspecialisation in laser prostate surgery. these include investigations and risk calculation for prostate cancer including, the commonest male cancer, along with multiparametric MRI scans as well as blood in the urine diagnostics. Mr Khan will see patients with incontinence issues, urinary tract infections & erectile dysfunction in his regular Wednesday evening clinic.
Mr Khan also has a claim to fame as he was shadowed by the original actors of Holby City TV drama when he was a trainee surgeon in Cambridge. He has taken flying lessons in order to try and uphold a family tradition of obtaining a PPL.
