FAQs

Endodontic treatment consists of removing the nerve that is inside the tooth which is causing the toothache. To treat a root canal, the dentist or specialist endodontist will use dental instruments to clean the inside of the tooth, leaving it free of infection.

Local anaesthetic is used for endodontic treatment.

Endodontic treatment can sometimes be completed in one appointment but may take up to three appointments, depending upon the complexity.

Following endodontic treatment, the tooth will require a restoration.
