Professional profile

Dr Tash graduated from King’s College, London in 1997 with a BSc (Hons) in Pharmacology and Leicester University Medical School in 2003. He completed his postgraduate specialist training in the East of England (Cambridge) deanery training rotation and is dual accredited in both Gastroenterology and General Internal Medicine.

Dr Tash has been the Clinical Director and Clinical Lead for Endoscopy, JETS Endoscopy training lead (training endoscopists of the future) and working as a Consultant Gastroenterologist and General Physician at the Luton and Dunstable Hospital since 2015. In 2019, he led the Trust Endoscopy Department through the Royal College of Physicians ‘JAG Accreditation’ process and visit, achieving outstanding reviews from the assessors and awarded the Trust ‘Team of the Month’.

His private practice reflects his NHS practice and includes investigating and managing general and complex gastroenterology disease, including acid reflux and indigestion, abdominal pain, constipation, diarrhoea, Irritable Bowel Syndrome (IBS) and Inflammatory Bowel Disease (IBD), Barrett’s oesophagus, food intolerances and allergies as well as autoimmune conditions such as Coeliac disease.

Dr Tash has a subspecialty interest in Endoscopy and was awarded and undertook a Fellowship in Advanced Endoscopy at Addenbrookes Hospital, Cambridge. He is proficient in diagnostic and therapeutic gastroscopy (including all modalities for emergency UGI bleeds), flexible sigmoidoscopy, colonoscopy (accredited as a National Bowel Cancer Screening [BCSP] Colonoscopist) and ERCP (for gallstones, jaundice and bile duct exploration). He has performed more than 6,000 procedures, with an unadjusted colonoscopy completion rate of 95 with a low sedation requirement and excellent comfort scores; this is despite undertaking complex endoscopic procedures, including those patients referred to me by other consultant colleagues. Dr Tash undertakes large polyp resection (removal) without the need for surgery, under both conscious and deep sedation.
