Professional profile

Dr Cohn is a very experienced General Paediatrician. He has written books on paediatrics and published a number of articles about his specialities.

His specialist areas have developed from taking a holistic, child centred approach to the practice of paediatrics. Believing that a good history and examination will often make tests and investigations unnecessary.

He graduated from St George’s Hospital, London in 1989 and started work in Paediatrics in 1990, training at various London hospitals – including Great Ormond Street Hospital. He was appointed Consultant Paediatrician in West Hertfordshire in 1999 and is registered with the General Medical Council.

Dr Cohn is very happy to see all children, but unfortunately not able to make diagnoses on developmental problems such as Autism, ADHD or specific learning difficulties.

Additional information

Dr Cohn describes his clinical interests as those which impact massively on the life of children and their families but are often sadly overlooked by the health system. He has a particular interest in childhood continence – especially in children with developmental delay. In these children incontinence is too often unnecessarily accepted as an inevitable part of their lives. Most respond to interventions which open up whole new worlds of opportunity. In all children treatment can be life changing for the child and family.

He also takes a great interest in presentations where there is a significant contribution of physical and emotional/ psychological factors – addressing these in a sensitive manner. Believing that body and mind are intertwined. He believes that the most important aspect is finding a solution that works for everybody.
