I have been a GP for 28 years in Hertfordshire having qualified at Sheffield University. I did my GP VTS training at St Mary’s, Paddington, The Royal London followed by a year in Putney with a GP trainer. Hospital training included general medicine, obstetrics and gynaecology, emergency medicine and cardio-thoracic surgery.
I sat on the PCT Clinical Executive Committee as clinical adviser to the board on for 5 years before the formation of CCG’s in 2013. I also sit on the board of Herts Urgent Care as the GP Non-Executive Director.
Inspiration for medical career
I have always had a desire to improve cardiovascular risk profiles to reduce the risk of heart disease and stroke in my patients. My father and brother ,as cardiologists, inspired me in this field. I am keen to keep myself fit and encourage my patients to look at lifestyle management.
I enjoy snowboarding and skiing in the winter and running, cycling and 5 a side football all year round.
